Sir Apirana Ngata Memorial Scholarships now open

Published 9th Jan 2012
Applications are now open for the 2012 Sir Apirana Ngata Memorial Scholarships.

Scholarships are available to students studying in any field at any tertiary institution including a polytechnic, wananga or university. Scholarships are generally between $1,000 and $3,000.

Scholarships are open to all Māori but preference is given to descendants of Māori World War I veterans.

Funding for the scholarship comes from Hereheretau Station which is near Wairoa and the major asset of the Māori Soldiers Trust which set up the fund.  The Māori Trustee administers Hereheretau Station and profit each year is passed to the fund.

Applications will be accepted for 2012 scholarships until 30 April 2012.  See the Scholarships section of our website for how to apply.
