Owners

Owners are the kaitiaki of the whenua that has been handed down to them and that they in turn will hand down to future generations.

One of the most important decisions owners will make about their land is how that land is looked after. For many owners of Māori land, that decision has been to appoint the Māori Trustee.  See the different ways owners can use the services of the Māori Trustee organisation.

The entire Māori Trustee team is dedicated to supporting the kaitiakitanga of the owners, and to ensuring the long term sustainable future of the land.

We believe that every owner in Māori land has the right to be involved in discussion and decision about their land and its future.  We regularly hold meetings of owners, and keep a register of owners in each block so that they can get reports about their land and be notified about meetings or other events coming up.

Māori Trustee teams work from six offices nationwide with owners of the land to make sure they have the information and advice they need to make the best choices for their land and assets.

Make sure we know how to contact you!

If you are an owner in a land block administered by Māori Trustee, make sure that we have your up-to-date contact details so that you have the chance to be involved in discussions and decisions about your land.  Fill in the contact detail form online, or call us on 04 803 2800.
