New Māori Trustee appointed

New Maori Trustee Jamie Tuuta was welcomed to Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington) and his new role as Maori Trustee at Pipitea Marae recently.

Jamie, from Ngāti Mutunga and Taranaki iwi, has been appointed for a term of five years.

Jamie says that he is greatly looking forward to working with owners to support them in realising their aspirations and hopes for their land.

“As an organisation, the Māori Trustee has 90 years of experience in working with Māori land.  Our commitment as trustee is to the protection and growth of the land and assets we administer on behalf of owners, both for now, and for future generations,” he says.

“I am greatly looking forward to building on the work that has been done so far in the long history of this organisation and to ensuring that the Māori Trustee plays a strong role in supporting the owners we act for, and in the growing Māori economy,” he says.
