Land available for lease now online

Properties administered by the Māori Trustee will now be advertised online as they come up for lease, giving nationwide visibility to potential leaseholders.

Isobel McIntyre, head of Trustee Services, says that advertising in the past has been local through newspaper advertising and local channels.  “Going online gives our properties nationwide visibility and benefits both owners and potential leaseholders,” she says.

“Our aim is always to find the best leaseholder for each property, and we know that many farmers now operate across a wide area – so we can now reach more potential leaseholders for each block and the leaseholders can get a wider view of the opportunities that might suit their operation.

“The Māori Trustee is one of the biggest administrators of Māori land, with 100,000 hectares and more than 2,000 properties, so we often have opportunities for leasing,” she says.
